12 Kinds of Fish You May Never Eat

Tilapia

Tilapia is a type of fish that is farmed and can cause inflammatory effects. Studies show that it has more inflammatory effects than bacon. However, it is one of the most eaten fish in America. This fish contains little levels of omega-3 fatty acids [1], but contains high levels of omega-6 fatty acids. This means that the natural benefits of tilapia will not elevate you omega-3s.

Consuming fish that contains low omega-3 combined with high levels of omega-6 levels may cause severe health complications in people with arthritis [2], heart disease, asthma [3], and various allergic diseases. Excess consumption of tilapia causes inflammation that can damage blood vessels, lungs, joint tissues, heart, skin, and the digestive tract. Scientists have also discovered that farmed tilapia contains a fatty acid that has negative effects on our total health.
