Diary and Salty Snacks

Next to gluten, dairy is one of the things in our modern diet that causes the most inflammation. In a significant portion of people, it produces inflammation. People who already have peripheral neuropathy have some degree of nerve damage, and inflammation can further affect the nerves. As a result, pain and other neuropathy symptoms might become worse. Dairy consumption can also promote inflammation, which can increase autistic behaviors [2], because bloating, gas, constipation [3], and diarrhea [4].
Foods with a high sodium content can be particularly harmful since the salt content can limit blood flow and make numbness, a symptom of peripheral neuropathy, worse. Fast food, cold meats, and potato chips are all foods that should be avoided as much as possible because they are particularly high in sodium. Anything processed or canned is likewise likely to be high in salt and is potentially dangerous.
