Alcohol

The excessive use of alcohol should be discouraged, due to its negative effects on the cardiovascular system. [6] Alcohol reduces myocardial contractility and can cause arrhythmias. Some studies have shown that moderate alcohol consumption, up to 30g per day for men and 20g per day for women, has no harmful effects on heart failure. However, patients with HF should be advised to minimize the intake of alcoholic beverages 30.
Fat Reduction
In order to encourage a good cardiovascular health, it is expedient to have a healthy diet. Taking of hydrogenated or “trans” fats, [7] cholesterol, and saturated fats, in excess can reduce blood flow since it allows and aids the deposition of fats in the arterial walls of the blood and heart vessels.
