Prunes

Prunes are basically dried plums. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, prunes are an ideal food for you. It contains all the necessary nutrients required for growth and development, including iodine. Study shows that five dried prunes offer 13 mcg of iodine, or about 9% of the daily value.
Due to their high level of sorbitol [1] (a type of sugar alcohol) and fiber, prunes are commonly used to reduce constipation. They contain high levels of nutrients and vitamins, such as vitamin A, vitamin K, iron, and potassium. Since they offer a wide variety of nutrients, doctors recommend them to improve heart health, reduce the risk of colon cancer, and regulate weight by reducing appetite.
