Calcium

Calcium is an important mineral for good teeth and bone health. Also, it plays an essential part in heart health, nerve signaling, and muscle function. The recommended daily intake of calcium for adults is around 1 g. Calcium-rich foods include tofu, plant juices or milk, chickpeas, broccoli, watercress, turnip greens, mustard greens, kale, and bok choy. Studies have shown that vegans often have lower calcium needs because this element is needed for omnivores to neutralize acidity in a meat-rich diet.[8]
