Medicare Part B [4] covers most types of cancer treatment, including medically necessary outpatient care. People try as much as possible to pay a monthly premium for this part. The services and treatment Medicare Part B will cover include:
- A regular visit with your doctor
- Regular visits with your oncologist and other specialists
- Test for diagnoses such as blood work or X-ray
- Outpatient surgery
- Intravenous and some oral chemotherapy treatments
- Medical equipment, such as walkers. Wheelchairs, and feeding pumps
- Mental health services
- Preventive care screening
