Does Medicare Cover Dentures?

What dental treatment does Medicare cover?

Generally, Medicare doesn’t pay for any dental services. However, there are some unique exceptions, like:

  • Oral exams are done in the hospital before heart valve surgery and a kidney replacement procedure.
  • Tooth removal and dental services if they must be done to treat another, non-dental disease.
  • Dental services are required to treat certain types of cancer.
  • Jaw surgery and repair caused by a traumatic accident.
