Qualifying Individual (QI)

QI is a limited Medicare Savings Program (block-grant to states) and is available to people that enroll early. You can qualify for this program if you earn between 120-135% FPL. Also, single and married people with resources lower than $8,400 and $12,600 respectively can qualify for the program. Qualifying Individual (QI) will pay your Medicare Part B premium if you are eligible. The monthly income limit is a $20 total income disregard. The limits in Hawaii and Alaska are higher. The income limit for Residents of 48 states & District of Columbia is $1,549 for singles and $2,080 for married people. The limit in Alaska is $1,931 for single people and $2,595 for married people. In Hawaii, the limit is $1,778 for single people and $2,389 for married people.
