Signs And Symptoms of TMJ Disorders

Soreness in the face ear, neck, or mouth

For most people, pain in the face is caused by TNJ disorders. This is because the temporomandibular joint is what connects the bones of the upper and lower jaw, hence a misalignment can cause soreness around these areas. Patients suffering from this condition may experience pain in the face, ear, neck, or mouth. This symptom may last for a few days or up to a few weeks. In chronic cases, patients experience ongoing episodes of sharp pain that last for several months.

Blurriness

This condition can affect your eyesight quality due to the inflamed nerves behind the eyes. Patients may experience anything ranging from dilated pupils to drooping eyelids to blurriness [2] to twitching of the eye. This symptom is relatively rare in patients, but can be associated with temporomandibular joint disorders and may fade away after taking medication for the condition.
