Milkmaid Braids and Cornrows
A milkmaid braid [5] is when you create two pigtail braids and wrap them up and around the head to look like a crown. Milkmaid braids are similar to crown braids but involve more than one plait.
Cornrows are a style of braid that originated in Africa. It can be worn by both men and women and with different hair textures. This braiding style requires you to plait very close to the scalp, using an underhand, upward motion to make a continuous, raised row. It is a protective hairstyle for women of color to keep hair from getting frizzy or drying out.
