May Prevent and Treat Cancer
Argan oil is known to impede the growth and reproduction of certain cancer cells. A test-tube study showed that the polyphenolic compounds present in argan oil helps prevent growth of cancer cells in the prostate. Studies showed that the compounds inhibited cancer cell growth by 50%.
Another test tube study showed that a pharmaceutical-grade mixture of argan oil and vitamin E may increase the rate of cell death on breast and colon cancer cell samples.
Various research has been done to understand the effects of argan oil on certain cancer cells, and while this research may seem intriguing, more research needs to be done to understand how it works.
