10 Argan Oil Benefits for Skin and Hair

May Improve Hair Health

Argan oil contains high levels of oleum acid, a mono-unsaturated, omega-9 fat. Oleic acid can also be found in other foods, such as olive oils and avocado. Studies show that taking it regularly may offer protective effects on your heart. A human study showed that argan oil was similar to olive oil in its ability to reduce the risk of having hair diseases and skin conditions because of its effects on antioxidants level in the blood.

Another small human study showed that a high intake of argan oil is linked with low levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol [6] and higher blood levels of antioxidants. A study done on 40 health people to review healthy people showed those who took 15 grams of argan oil daily for 30 days developed a 16% and 20% reduction in “bad” LDL and triglyceride levels, respectively.

Larger studies need to be done to understand how argan oil helps reduce your risk of developing hair conditions.
