A study with 12 healthy male participants [7] found that those who took green tea were able to burn fat 17 percent more than those who took a placebo while cycling.

Like most teas, evidence for the effectiveness of green tea is still not decisive. Some studies suggest that green tea is not really effective in increasing metabolism.

The different results seen in studies could have more to do with the difference in people’s body systems than the tea itself. This means it may not help burn fat in everyone. It is still worth a try since it does not hurt. You can drink three to four cups every day to help burn fat.
