7 Healthcare Providers Who May Be In Your Delivery Room

Doula

It is important to have a doula in your delivery room. They help to decrease the risks of doing a cesarean section, analgesia or any of the medical procedure. Doulas and other support figures can help women set boundaries and refuse certain medical procedure that they don’t want which include episiotomies [1]. In most cases, hospitals or birth centers have no restrictions on the involvement of doula. But in areas affected by COVID -19 [2], several facilities have a limit on the number of people that can be present in the delivery room.  In some organizations, the doula is not counted in this number because they know how important they are. However, some birth centers do not count the doula as visitors, so some pregnant women will pick whether to have their partner in the room or their doula.
