Nursery nurse

In some hospitals, nursery nurses are present in the room during delivery. In some cases, they attend all birth, in others, only cesarean birth. It is important to know a hospital’s policy, to know if nursery nurses are allowed. They assist in taking care of the baby after delivery. They play vital roles in taking care of newborns. Nursery nurses are also called neonatal nurses. Nurses that take care of young children are called pediatric nurses. Most nursery nurses are registered nurses (RN). However, certified nurse assistants (CNA) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) also work in hospital nurseries. Nursery nurses can also work outside of the delivery room. They take care of young children in clinics, private pediatric hospitals and hospitals. Nursery nurses use knowledge gained from working with newborn to treat conditions and sicknesses in toddler. Nursery nurses that work in pediatric focus their efforts on the youngest patients, mainly babies. Nursery nurses also help pediatricians with expert advice, giving comfort to restless babies and relay information to family members.
