Milk

Milk contains casein, a type of protein that makes up 78.7 of all milk protein. Studies have shown that casein can trigger migraines in some people as patients complain about getting headaches few moments after taking foods or drinks containing milk or buttermilk.

Milk headache is an example of how the causes of migraines differ in people. Some persons use milk for headache relief because of the electrolytes and protein that helps hydrate and repair the body, while others develop a headache.

Alcohol

Alcohol has a lot of health disadvantages like affecting brain chemicals and blood vessels. This tampers with healthy circulation and can cause migraine pain. Alcoholic drinks like beer, red wine, white wine, and champagne should be avoided if you are prone to migraines. Headache caused by dehydration is common after taking alcohol. You may experience worse symptoms if you fail to take enough water after drinking.

Alcohol leads to dehydration because it suppresses the hormones that balance the body’s hydration. Also, alcoholic drinks are carbonated, which worsens migraine symptoms because the carbon dioxide competes with oxygen in the bloodstream. This type of migraine may be accompanied by dizziness/lightheadedness and nausea.
