Dupixent Injection: Uses, Side Effects, Dosage & More

Dupixent got approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2017 to treat eczema in adults. In 2018, it was approved as an add-on maintenance medication to improve moderate to severe asthma that’s classified as eosinophilic or corticosteroid-dependent in adults and in children ages 12 years and older. In 2019, Dupixent was approved to treat moderate to severe eczema in children ages 12 years and older:

  • with symptoms that can’t be improved with regular prescriptions
  • when topical treatments are not allowed

Uses

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) legalizes prescription drugs, like Dupixent, to treat certain conditions. Dupixent may also be used off-label for other diseases. Off-label use is when a drug that’s approved to treat one condition is used to treat a different condition.
