Drug Interactions

Like other NSAIDs, Nabumetone oral tablets can interact with other drugs, vitamins, or herbs you consume. An interaction occurs when another substance alters the functions of a drug. - Methotrexate: Worsened side effects of methotrexate are insufficient white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets in the body and a decrease in the body’s ability to fight infections.
- Lithium: Worsened side effects of lithium are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea [3], drowsiness, muscle weakness, tremor, loss of coordination, blurred vision, and ringing in your ears.
Some medications should be avoided when using Nabumetone because they reduce its potency. Examples are:
- Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors: Drugs like captopril, enalapril, and lisinopril should not be taken with Nabumetone. Your doctor will observe your blood pressure properly if you use these drugs.
- Diuretics (water pills) such as thiazide diuretics (including chlorothiazide and hydrochlorothiazide) and furosemide. Your doctor will observe your fluid levels, blood pressure and kidney activities if you have to take these medications.
