Benign Essential Blepharospasm

Benign essential blepharospasm can be classified as chronic and sustained eyelid spasm, a type of movement disorder (dystopia) that can affect both eyes.
This type is 2.3 times more likely to affect females than males.
The condition typically peaks between ages 50-70. It may worsen over time and potentially result in:
- Facial spasm
- Blurry vision
- Increased sensitivity to light
