Meal Plans for Constipation Type of IBS

For people suffering from constipation type of IBS, their food choice would differ during an attack or IBS flare-up. Generally, foods that can contribute to bloating and gas formation are avoided completely. Fruits like bananas and apples are avoided. Here is a meal plan that is proper for a constipation attack;
- Breakfast option: peppermint tea with fruits like fresh peaches and prunes.
- Lunch option: fruit and vegetable salad and fish. Lunch shouldn’t be heavy.
- Dinner option: cooked vegetables or salad with little oil and vinegar. Add lean protein like fish or chicken and fruit. Dinner should also be kept light.
Fluids may include tea, coffee and of course, water. They act as laxatives and help to improve bowel movement.
