Rest

This may sound trivial but this is very important for a mononucleosis patient. They usually experience fatigue and so adequate rest is very important to help the body recover quickly. Physicians would always recommend that a patient at risk of spleen rupture should stay away from rigorous activities and take bed rest.

Hydration

Just like a person suffering from a cold, a person with mononucleosis is advised to stay hydrated. Taking a lot of water, fruits, soup, tea, and other healthy fluids can be very helpful. It helps with cooling down the fever that comes with the infection and prevents dehydration.

Cooling the Fever

Fever is the commonest symptom of mononucleosis and in many cases, it is usually high. The fever can be handled by using wet towel compresses, wiping down the body with a wet towel soaked with cool water, and taking cool baths
