Laser Therapy for Eczema: Does It Work?

How Does Laser Therapy Work for Eczema?

Laser therapy is a noninvasive treatment option for eczema. According to the National Eczema Association [4], a dermatologist may recommend laser therapy or another form of phototherapy (light therapy) if other forms of treatment do not improve your eczema condition.

Laser therapy should only be done by a medical expert. With the excimer, your doctor will use a handheld device to focus the treatment on the part of your body that needs treatment. It can also be used all over the body, including your feet, hands, and scalp.

If your doctor uses another form of phototherapy, you may require that you stand on a machine that helps direct light at either your whole body or only exposed area.
