10 Common Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance

Fatigue & Weight Loss

Research has shown that a good percentage of people who suffer from gluten intolerance or insensitivity experience fatigue and tiredness. This can be worsened by frequent diarrhea, constipation and abdominal cramps. Fatigue may not be a diagnostic symptom of gluten intolerance, but it is always a cause for serious concern. The iron deficiency anemia caused by gluten in such patients can also cause symptoms of fatigue or tiredness.

Another worrisome symptom of gluten intolerance is involuntary, sudden, unexplained weight loss. This kind of weight loss has no apparent cause and occurs suddenly and without warning. A possible cause of this weight loss is the poor nutrient absorption seen in gluten intolerance. Poor nutrient absorption will lead to malnourishment and will consequently lead to weight loss.
