Cocoa powder is also a good source of polyphenol with about 3,448 mg of polyphenols per 100 g of the powder. Dark chocolates also contain high levels of polyphenols. A good combination of dark chocolate and cocoa powder provides a healthy level of polyphenol.
Berries
Every type of Berry contains high levels of polyphenol, including the common and easily accessible types of berries:
- highbush blueberries, which contains about 560 mg polyphenols
- blackberries, which contains about260 mg polyphenols
- strawberries, which contains about 235 mg polyphenols
- red raspberries, which contains about 215 mg polyphenols
Studies show that Black chokeberry is the berry with the highest amount of polyphenol as it contains more than 1,700 mg.
