Shrimp

Frozen shrimp contains high levels of sodium. Salts and other sodium-rich preservatives are usually added to shrimp to give it flavor. For example, sodium tripolyphosphate is usually added to help regulate the loss of moisture during thawing. A 3-ounce (85-gram) of non-breaded frozen shrimp contains about 800 mg of sodium, 35% of the RDI. On the other hand, a 3-ounce serving of fresh-caught shrimp that does not contain any sodium-rush additive has only 101 mb of sodium, or 4% of the RDI.
