According to research, an average-sized avocado contains about 690 mg of potassium.

If you consume one-fourth of an avocado, the amount of phosphorus consumed will be lower than its usual quantity. Avocados such as guacamole should be reduced or avoided if you are on a renal diet or if your doctor tells you to limit your phosphorus intake. Bananas

Bananas contain high levels of potassium. They contain low levels of sodium. A medium banana contains about 422 mg of potassium. If your doctor tells you to reduce your potassium consumption, it may be difficult for you if a banana is a regular staple.

Many other tropical fruits contain high levels of potassium. But, pineapples contain significantly less amount of potassium than other tropical fruits and are a better alternative.
