Additional tips

The precise amount of potassium in many foods is affected by how the food is cooked. Some high potassium foods can be made safe for low potassium diets by cooking them in specific ways. This works for vegetables, potatoes, carrots, beets, and rutabagas.
Potatoes
Potato is a high-potassium food. If you’re going to add it to your diet, you must peel and boil it to lower the potassium. Afterward, you may chip, roast, or have it sautéed. Do not microwave, pressure cook, or steam your potatoes.
The maximum amount of potato that should be in a low potassium diet is 150 g [7]. It is ideal to keep it well under this.
