Apart from the micronutrient content in beets, they also have very high nitrate content, a plant compound with various health benefits. A study discovered that drinking beetroot juice temporarily lowered systolic blood pressure by 4mmHg to 5mmHg in adults [8].
Beets have various health benefits, which include keeping the blood pressure in check. Research shows that beets are also known to improve athletic performance due to the presence of dietary nitrates.
