How to Deal with Bunions Pain

Asides from making feet look unattractive, bunions can also be painful especially if they are too large. This pain can be disturbing and can affect one’s daily activities.
There are different ways to deal with bunion pains. They include:
- Use of NSAIDs: Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs like ibuprofen [4] and aspirin [5] can be used to deal with bunion pains. They can also be used to deal with inflammations caused by the bunions around that area. While working to reduce the protrusion, these drugs can be important in reducing the pains felt. You should however talk to your doctor before taking these drugs. Ask your doctor if it is safe for you to take the NSAID and which one is best for you.
- Bunion Pads: Using bunion pads while wearing a shoe also helps to relieve pain. They prevent the skin –especially the swollen area– from touching the shoe and help to reduce the pain that is normally felt. Seek for pads that are medium-sized.
- Lose Weight and Exercise: Exercises also help to relieve bunion pains. They also help to improve the feet range of motion as well as develop muscular strength. Losing weight especially if you are overweight is also helpful in reducing the amount of inflammation in the foot.
