Preventive Measures for Clogged Ear

Preventing Excess Earwax
Earwax is normally produced by the ears. Usually, bodily functions like chewing and speaking will help direct earwax out of the ear canal. A person occasionally makes too much earwax. Some at-home remedies in this situation include:
Making the wax softer
It is possible for earwax to be excessively dense and hard to naturally exit the ear canal. A few drops of some liquids, such as mineral oil, baby oil, or glycerin, can aid when this occurs. 2-3 drops in each ear may aid to soften wax and provide easier wax egress.
Ear syringing
Wax softening may be followed by ear syringing. A syringe kit can be purchased at a nearby pharmacy or by visiting a doctor.
One can use the syringing equipment to inject water into the ear 15 to 30 minutes after applying drops to loosen the earwax. To prevent vertigo, the water should be at room temperature.
If someone has ear tubes or an eardrum hole, they should never try ear syringing since it could push water deeper into their ear canal.
