Signs of Trichomoniasis in Males and People Assigned Male at Birth (AMAB)

Signs of infection rarely show in males and people assigned male at birth. Some of the symptoms you may see include:
- Burning after ejaculation
- Painful urination
- Froth-like discharge from your penis
- Irritation or itching inside your penis
Causes of Trichomoniasis
Trich is caused by a small parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. Once you have the infection, you can transfer trich to someone else through:
- Anal sex
- Vaginal-pencil or vaginal-vaginal intercourse
- Oral sex
- Genital touching (skin-to-skin contact without ejaculation
It is not possible to spread trich by sharing foods and drinks, holding hands, kissing, or other nonsexual forms of contact.
In addition to affecting your genitals, trich can also infect your anus, hands and mouth.
