What does poor hygiene mean?

Poor hygiene can be broken down into two different categories, which include:

  • Personal hygiene
  • Environmental hygiene

Both categories are dangerous to one’s health and the people around them. Here are examples of other kinds of poor hygiene.

Poor personal hygiene:

  • Not brushing your teeth regularly
  • Not bathing your teeth regularly
  • Not washing your hands before or after you handle food
  • Not washing your hands after using the toilet

Poor environmental hygiene:

  • Not regularly cleaning areas that breed bacteria, such as the bathroom and kitchen
  • Lack of proper storing and cooking of food
  • Not doing laundry often
  • Lack of regular disposing of garbage
