What Is Cholesterol Embolism?

Causes

The presence of high cholesterol makes it easy for plaques to form, plaques also contain other properties but cholesterol is a major substance. The causes of high cholesterol in the blood include:

  • Genetics: Familial hyper cholesterol (FH) [3] is a form of high cholesterol and can be inherited from family members with a history of this medical condition.
  • Sedentary lifestyle: lack of regular body exercise and always sitting in a particular position for a long time, lowers the good cholesterol which is high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and this makes it easy for this medical issue to occur.
  • Eating habits: unhealthy eating of some dairy foods, lots of bad fats such as some meat, baked goods, chocolates, deep fried foods and processed foods.
  • Too much stress with hormonal changes can also lead to the cholesterol level being high.
  • Presence of exciting health problems such as hyperthyroidism [4] and nephritic syndrome [5].
  • Smoking also plays a role in the storage of cholesterol in the body and this affects women that smoke faster than men.
