Side effects
Dupixent can lead to mild or serious side effects. These side effects can be grouped into the following.
Popular side effects
The more common side effects of Dupixent can include:
- injection site reactions
- throat pain
- oral herpes causing cold sores, or other herpes infections.
- dry or itchy eyes
- conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- insomnia (trouble sleeping)
- toothache
- joint pain
- gastritis (swelling in your stomach)
- eosinophilia (increase in a type of white blood cells)
- eyelid inflammation
Some of these effects occur only if you’ve been exposed to the herpes virus. While some were only observed in people treating chronic rhinosinusitis or eczema.
Most of these side effects may go away after some weeks.
