Just like any other monoclonal antibodies, Empliciti works by activating your immune system and making your immune cells stronger in order to be able to fight infections better.
Empliciti is not available in a biosimilar form, which is generic drugs (non-biological drugs). Empliciti comes in powder usually in single dose vials but is made into a liquid solution. The drug is to be administered by a medical doctor, it is mostly given as an intravenous (IV) infusion, that is, as an injection into your vein.
