Overview

The scratched eye is a common type of injury that results mostly from house chores and sports whereby dust or dirt particles, wood particles, and chemicals come in contact with the cornea. It is medically referred to as corneal abrasion. It is a condition whereby the outermost protective part of the eye is injured. It is a minor injury and hence it can be healed in a few days when treated with the right measures.

The symptoms of a scratched eye may be obvious immediately or hours after the scratch. It mostly begins with a spot or stain of blood on the white part of the eye. Some other symptoms of a corneal abrasion include Headaches, redness of the eye, blurred vision [1], eye pain, and tearing up.
