Runny nose

A runny nose is a very common symptom of several conditions like the flu (viral infection) and the common cold. Allergic rhinitis makes the list. It is usually also considered as one of the telling symptoms in diagnosing Hay fever infection.
Hay fever is a case of the body’s immune system responding to an allergen or a substance as if it were harmful. This usually results in body cells releasing several chemicals that cause the inside layer of your nose (which is the mucous membrane) to become swollen and produce too much mucus.
It is quite easy to confuse a common cold with allergic rhinitis but the major distinction between both is that Hay Fever results in a runny nose with thin discharge and it usually doesn’t cause a fever.
