Nasal congestion

Nasal congestion is when the nasal passage is filled with excess fluid or mucus or inflamed from an allergic reaction which results in blockage or obstruction. It is usually caused by anything that irritates the nose.
Hay fever can result in congestion of the nasal cavity or a blocked nose. The inner layer of the nose usually gets swollen as a result of the body’s response to supposed invasion by natural allergens. Mucus production in the nose also increases. The swelling of the blood [4] vessels in the nose and excess mucus in the nose closes the nasal passage thereby causing blockage and resulting in a stuffy nose.
