Sinus pressure and pain

Sinus infection, a condition called sinusitis, is characterized by an inflammation of the nasal cavities and it is another common symptom of hay fever.
Generally, your sinuses are clear, but colds, nasal allergies, or in this case, hay fever or allergic rhinitis can cause your sinuses to become congested and fill with fluid or mucus. This can result in a sinus infection which may be accompanied by a sinus headache or sinus pressure. You may also feel pain in other areas of your face depending on the severity of the infection.
Severe hay fever can also make the inner membranes of the nose more sensitive to other airborne irritants which can result in sinusitis. Prolonged sinus congestion [5] due to hay fever may intensify your susceptibility to sinusitis.
