10 Best Cancer-Fighting Foods to Add to Your Meals

Broccoli

Broccoli contains sulforaphane, a plant compound commonly found in cruciferous vegetables that have potential to have anticancer properties. One test-tube study showed that sulforaphane reduced the size and number of breast cancer cells by up to 75%.

Similarly, a study on animals found out that treating mice with sulforaphane helped kill off prostate cancer cells and reduced the volume of tumor by more than 50%.

There are other studies that confirmed that a higher intake of cruciferous vegetables like broccoli may be linked to a lower risk of colorectal cancer [1].

Including broccoli in a few of your meals each week may help prevent cancer. However, take in mind that the research that is currently available hasn’t specifically examined how broccoli can affect cancer in people.
