10 Foods to Avoid During Pregnancy

Meat that is processed, raw, or undercooked

Undercooked meat shares some of the same problems as raw fish. You run a higher risk of contracting various bacteria or parasites, such as Toxoplasma, E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella, if you consume undercooked or raw meat.

The health of your unborn child could be in danger from bacteria, which could result in stillbirth or serious neurological conditions like epilepsy [2], intellectual incapacity, and blindness.

While the majority of germs are located on the outside of complete chunks of meat, some may linger within the muscle fibers.

Never eat cut meat uncooked or undercooked, including meat patties, burgers, minced meat, pig, and fowl. Keep the burgers well done on the grill for the time being.

Pregnant women are occasionally surprised to learn that hot dogs, lunch meat, and deli meat are also problematic. Many germs may infect this kind of meat during preparation or storage.

Processed meat items shouldn’t be consumed by expectant mothers until they have been cooked thoroughly.
