Apple Cider Vinegar Diet: Pros, Cons and More

Bone Loss

Moderate consumption of apple cider vinegar is unlikely to cause damage to the bones. Long-term consumption, however, may lead to osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a chronic bone condition characterized by an abnormal loss of bony tissue due to the lack of bone minerals.

In one extreme case study [8], doctors attributed a woman’s low blood potassium level and osteoporosis diagnosis to her history of long-term apple cider vinegar consumption. The woman had taken a cup of apple cider vinegar every day for six years and the doctors said the acidity of the vinegar leached minerals from her bones.
