Significantly Lowers Menstrual Pain

The pain felt during the menstrual cycle or period is called dysmenorrhea. Ginger helps in relieving pain, generally, including dysmenorrhea. Research in 2009 shows 150 women instructed to take either nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) or ginger for the first three days of their period. [8]
Each of the three groups received daily doses of mefenamic acid, ibuprofen, or powdered ginger. Besides, ginger was able to lower the pain as powerfully as that of the two NSAIDs.
