Primary Eligibility Requirement for Medicare Part D
You must be 65 or older
In most cases, you are qualified to enroll in Medicare Part D three months before your 65th birthday to three months after your birthday. To join the plan, you must input a specific Medicare number and the date you qualified. You can join online, contact the provider of the Part D plan or call 800-Medicare for help with a plan.
A qualifying disability
A disability that makes you eligible to get social security or Railroad Retirement Disability Benefits can also help you access Medicare Part D. You will be eligible for Part D three months before the 25th month of when you started accessing benefit payments till the 25th month after you start getting benefits.
