How does Medicare work with VA benefits?

When you have a VA healthcare coverage, the VA pays for doctor visits, prescription from VA providers, and visit to a CA facility. Medicare will pay for any services and prescription from non-VA healthcare providers and facilities.
In some cases VA and Medicare will pay. This may happen if you go to a non-VA hospital for a VA-approved service or treatment, but need additional procedures that aren’t covered by the VA healthcare plan. Medicare will cover some additional cost.
