Tips to Relieve Foot Pain from Psoriatic Arthritis

Watch your weight

If you are overweight, that puts more extra strain on your feet, since they have to carry your body weight. Also, extra fat and tissue in the body release inflammatory substances that worsen psoriatic arthritis and make the symptoms worse.

Try working to lose some weight and achieve a moderate weight with the help of a nutrient-rich diet and regular exercise.

Use a pain reliever

Pain relievers can help relieve foot pain. Try nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) [4] like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve), which are for oral or topical use. These medications can help reduce the swelling and help ease pain in your feet.

Soak your foot

Soak your feet in warm water with some Epsom salt to help relieve swelling and pain. However, do not keep your feet in the water for too long as it can cause dry skin and psoriasis flare-up.
